Right Under Our Noses: Nick Fury Lured Tom Brady Out Of Retirement In “Man In The Arena” Post-Credit Scene

In a shocking turn of events, Buccaneers QB Tom Brady has unretired (after just a few weeks) and announced via social media he would rejoin his Tampa teammates for his 23rd season.

But, was it really a surprise?

ESPN’s documentary “Man In The Arena” is based on Brady’s dominant career. But after the final episode, Nick Fury, (Director of SHIELD) waited patiently at Brady’s home to lure him back out of retirement. Most fans didn’t stick around for the scene.

“I am retiring…?,” Nick Fury began, mocking Tom Brady’s retirement. “Mr. Brady, you are one of many athletes to unretire, you just don’t know it yet. I’d like to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative.”

“I told you, I don’t want to join your super secret boy band,” Brady replied before Fury responded that there was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable quarterbacks, so that they could fight the battles Carson Wentz never could. Fury went on to mention that S.H.I.E.L.D. also discovered the frozen body of Johnny Unitas for the next season of the NFL.

Eagle eyed fans who waited for this post-credit scene were also in for a treat when a blank screen showed the text “Tom Brady will return in 2022” in white text before Man In The Arena cut to black.

“I think they’re setting up a football multiverse!,” said renowned NFL supernerd Grayson Bixby. “This opens up so many possibilities, like a Bobby Boucher cameo or The Rock’s character from The Game Plan. Oh boy, next year’s football-con is going to be INSANE. I can’t believe so many people missed that post-credit scene. The NFL has an extended cinematic universe coming for sure. Buckle up.”
