Justin Tucker Kicks Ball Too Hard, Leg Flies Off

OWINGS MILLS, MD – The Baltimore Ravens will be looking for a new kicker this season after all-pro Justin Tucker’s right leg detached from his body during a kick at training camp.

The tragic scene occurred while Tucker was attempting kicks from 60-plus yards to impress his teammates. After nailing kicks from 60 yards and 65 yards, he took a stab at a 70-yarder – which has never been made before in NFL history.

“It was incredible,” said Jordan Stout, the Ravens punter who was the holder for Tucker on that fateful kick. “A kick that far away required unspeakable power, he wound up at a velocity I had never seen before.”

What happened next was surreal, said Stout.

“Tucker put his entire soul into the kick, and the next thing we knew his entire right leg was soaring above us,” said Stout. “The leg actually went through the uprights before the ball. It was beautiful. Some of us cried.”

Unfortunately, Tucker did not see it, as he was laying on the ground with blood spurting out of the place where his right leg normally meets his torso.

Tucker said he had never experienced his leg flying off his body on a kick before. But the closest he ever came was at the University of Texas, when he missed the ball entirely and instead sent his entire body spinning through the air and through the uprights.

The Baltimore Ravens opted not to re-attach the leg, but will instead hang it on their team’s Ring Of Honor at M&T Bank Stadium.

The future Hall of Famer anticipates a full recovery despite now being one-legged.

“Will I be ready for opening day? No,” said Tucker. “But my recovery is progressing quite well, and I will be part robot as my new leg is mechanical, controlled by AI. Oops. I wasn’t supposed to say that. Strike that.”
