Falcons’ QB Ridder Gets Rest Day After Throwing 7 Passes

The Atlanta Falcons have decided to give their prized quarterback, Desmond Ridder, a well-deserved day off from training camp. Ridder had taken part in full day of practice, including a 2-minute drill, that resulted in the QB throwing 7 entire passes, exhausting himself in the process after such a jump in production.

Head Coach Arthur Smith, a fan of establishing the run, was reportedly astounded by this unprecedented feat of minimal effort and decided that such brilliance deserved some rest and relaxation. “It’s not every day you witness such mastery of laziness on the field,” said Smith while making rookie phenom Bijan Robinson his daily protein shake.

In response to the announcement, Falcons fans have been both amused and bewildered, wondering if maybe they should start practicing their own touchdown dances for a chance to join the team. After all, if Ridder can take a day off for throwing seven passes, what could they accomplish if they threw, say, one?

Ridder, for his part, graciously accepted the day off with a humble shrug and said, “I guess I just have a natural talent for conserving energy. It’s all about quality over quantity, you know?”

The news of Ridder’s day off has sent shockwaves through the NFL, with other teams frantically trying to game plan how they’re going to stop Bijan Robinson’s 45 carries or Drake London’s route.

In the meantime, Ridder plans to spend his day off leisurely sipping lemonade on a hammock, contemplating the mysteries of the universe, and maybe throwing a couple more passes so he doesn’t get too rusty.
