Rockstar Games Reveals Antonio Brown As Playable Character In Grand Theft Auto VI
AP – Rockstar Games isn’t done making headlines. The gaming company dropped the highly-anticipated trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI this week, with the YouTube trailer already breaking records in number of views. Most excitedly, perhaps, is Rockstar’s announcement that one of the featured playable character is former NFL Wide Receiver Antonio Brown.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two, said the decision was a no-brainer. “We set the game in the depths of Florida, so we really needed someone batshit crazy who will literally do just about any crime imaginable. You can play as Antonio and drive recklessly around town, procreate and then not pay child support, own an arena football team, get naked in a pool and swim toward people, anything you want! It’ll be a blast.”
Developers were hard at work crafting a storyline for gamers to play as Brown that felt both immersive and true to the character. You’ll be able to play key moments in his football career, even.
“Creating a massive football simulator inside of GTA 6 was a challenge,” said Zelnick. “But it’s worth it to see our hero AB struggle to properly wild out while in Pittsburgh before coming to Florida. But the real emotional backbone of his story is the cutscene where he gets hit by Vontaze Burfict.”
That’s right, players will go through a cutscene of getting absolutely wrecked by Burfict and having Brown’s cerebral cortex forever being altered for the worst. Players will begin seeing a pulsing red light at random points of the day, prompting them to either abandon the Tampa Bay Buccaneers midgame or rob a hooker outside of a Best Western. Tom Brady is rumored to be a side character attempting to help Brown restore his life, but Brown will discover Brady was planning to have him assassinated as soon as he wins an 8th Super Bowl ring.
Zelnick said once you finish Antonio Brown’s playing career, you are basically in free play mode. “Have fun coming up with brand new crimes on the street, players! If only we could truly recreate the feeling of being inside one of the most deranged minds in human history. See you in 2025, gamers!”
