Man Whose Fantasy Football Team Name Has Been “Show Me Your TDs” For Full Decade Wins Lifetime Achievement Award For Comedy
GARY, IN – Local fantasy football player Troy Miller work e-mail pinged, but this time a smile came across his face. His fantasy football league, “Gary’s Finest” had been reactivated, and it was time to claim his team.
“Alright, let’s see here. Team icon, a plain helmet with the ESPN logo? Check. Team name, Show Me Your TDs? Check.”
It was at that moment a convoy of people he’d never met stormed into his office. Miller was then being presented with a large trophy by the American Comedy Association for reaching 10 consecutive years of comedy excellence. Confetti, balloons, and deafening cheers surrounded him.
“We hereby present recipient Troy L. Miller with this Lifetime Achievement Award for Comedy, for his fantasy football team name Show Me Your TDs represents all that comedy is supposed to be: innovative, ground-breaking, brand-new, a breath-of-fresh-air, original, creative, clever, and perfect. This team name he’s used every single season for a full 10 years exemplifies all that humor is supposed to bring into this darkened world,” said Steve Martin, who delivered Miller the award.
At press time, the announcement of the award was met with mixed reviews by the general public when an investigation revealed Miller had Googled “funnie [sic] team names for fantasy” in 2011 just before selecting Show Me Your TDs, and further damning evidence showed his 3 other fantasy team names in his leagues were My Ball Zach Ertz, Saquon These Nuts, and CeeDees Nuts.
